Pat Thornley:

Profile:

I am committed to the ethos of working with professionals and organisations to support people who are living (or caring for someone) with a long term health condition to develop the skills and confidence they need to improve their quality of life.

I have a range of knowledge, skills and experiences which I have developed during my employment in the NHS, Local Authority and community organisations. In my last role I was responsible for setting up and managing an Expert Patients Programme (EPP), which included working with people to pilot courses in Punjabi and Arabic; and training to deliver EPP and Looking After Me courses for carers.

Prior to this, I have set up and managed a range of community development and health projects to meet the identified needs of local communities. These included a Women's Health Information & Support Centre, supported independent living accommodation for people with physical and learning disabilities which was managed by local people; developing and delivering a range of accredited/non accredited health related training and training the trainers courses. Examples of which enabled women in the community to pass on their knowledge and skills within the family or local community.

My skills, knowledge and experience enable me to offer the services below.
