Profile:

Sharon has a unique mix of professional skills gained across a wide forum in the Self-Management, Training & Development, Holistic Therapy, Customer Service, and Voluntary Communities. ITD qualified in 1993 (Institute of Training & Development, now known as Institute of Personnel & Development, IPD) and has a Diploma in Holistic Therapies, Dip.IIHHT (International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies).

During 2002 to 2008, Sharon worked with the Expert Patients Programme as a Trainer, Senior Trainer, Assessor, Lead Trainer, Training & Quality Lead, and Regional Manager. She delivered, assessed, trained, and managed staff and volunteers to deliver self-management courses, helped develop self-management programmes, such as the EPP course for Carers, participated in Pilots for condition and community specific courses, and quality assurance frameworks, and supported organisations in implementing, developing and maintaining self-management programmes within the NHS and the voluntary sector.

Sharon now runs her own Training & Development Consultancy, primarily working within self-management and personal development communities. Delivering courses, training others to deliver, assessing, coaching and mentoring, supervision, advising organisations in developing and maintaining self-management programmes. Working with the Health Foundation CCHi partners, in training Clinicians to support self managers, and coaching Healthcare Professionals and self managers to deliver training.
