Jan Sharpe:
Profile:
Jan’s career began lecturing in Further Education, supporting young people with learning disabilities. Whilst her 6 children were growing up, she established a successful country house hotel, sourcing organic produce in Shropshire. During this period she also undertook RGN training & moved into Community Care at its inception, developing empowering outreach services for adults with physical disabilities.
Moving on to Scope, she was responsible for developing field work services for adults and children with cerebral palsy, their families and carers. The Early Years Service remains one of her successes. She has worked with government task forces & the National Service Frameworks to develop quality standards for service delivery.
Latterly with the NHS as an Expert Patient Programme Lead Trainer, she recruited and trained tutors, delivering training programs & monitoring service delivery. As a Prince2 Registered Practitioner, she is now developing innovative programmes for people with dementia conditions in their local communities. Involvement with developing empowering services within community development settings continues to be the cornerstone of her practice.
