Brenda Spettigue:

My professional training in nursing, my extensive experience of hospital, community and end-of-life care and my deep involvement in self-management have contributed to my broad skill base.
Working as a community Macmillan nurse meant taking a multi-disciplinary approach to champion best practice in person-focused care. I moved into self-management by taking the post of Senior Trainer at the start of the EPP pilot in 2002. In this role I motivated volunteers, mobilised PCTs and voluntary organisations and mentored colleagues within the national programme. It was a joy to work within an ethos of enabling people to reach their potential.
EPP’s firm adherence to Ss2Q quality assurance principles provided the framework within which I developed self-management on individual, group and service levels. My role as Business Development Manager extended my knowledge and understanding of commissioning and service development but I especially enjoy developing and delivering innovative training materials, independently and as part of a team. I am experienced in writing articles, contributing to reports, papers and national newsletters.
I am an accredited EPP lead trainer, assessor and assessor-trainer for Stanford programmes and am qualified in Prince 2 methodology at foundation level.
