SMRC Coordinators Network

The International Network for Managers of SMRC Self-Management Programmes

The Directors of Talking Health Taking Action led the very first Coordinators’ Network that was set up by LMCA (now National Voices) in 1997. This Network provided the foundation for the NHS EPP and the development of the Ss2Q quality assurance framework. We remain the only organisation in England solely focussed on building SMRC self-management capacity in local communities offering straightforward, impartial advice derived from our extensive experience of providing day-to-day support to those running and delivering SMRC programmes.

"Don't take our word for it"

"There is a real opportunity for those of us committed to evidence based self-management patient information to come together under the banner of person centred care to maximise the opportunities offered by the Five Year Forward View".
- Jonathan Berry, NHS England Lead - Shared Decision Making and Health Literacy

I have joined the Coordinators' Network to share best practice and learn. There are many coordinators out there so a lot of experience to offer each other but previously we have not been linked up- I am now the only person in post locally delivering the programme. I am very supportive of this Network and am looking forward to attending the Spring Conference
- Sharon Lonnen, Expert Patient Programme, Kirklees
